Spring Water Lily

Spring Water Lily

This photo of a water lily was taken at the garden fountain at the Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site in Hyde Park, NY. This was the first opportunity, that I can remember, that I’ve had to photograph a water lily and decided in post-production that a black and white background would allow the lily to really stand out.

Water lilies, of the flowering plant family known as Nymphaeaceae, live as rhizomatous aquatic herbs and can be found throughout the world in temperate and tropical climates.

This photo was take with a Canon EOS 70D at 250mm on June 15, 2017.
