This photo is of the tree-lined carriage road that leads from the Smiley Testimonial Gateway to Butterville Road in New Paltz on a June morning. The carriage road, which runs parallel to Gatehouse Rd., was once part of the formal entrance to the Mohonk Mountain House from 1908 to 1935. It is currently used to connect to both the Mohonk Preserve property and Mohonk Mountain House property via Lenape Lane.
