January Morning at Gomez Mill #1

Built in 1912 in the shape of a Devonshire cottage, the Gomez Mill was originally used as a paper mill. The mill, which is also known as the Dard Hunter Mill after its namesake, was built by William Joseph “Dard” Hunter, an American authority on handmade papermaking. The property on which the mill resides is known as Gomez Mill House, founded by Sephardic Jewish trader and merchant Luis Moses Gomez, and is the earliest known surviving Jewish dwelling in North America.
